Opening Day Photos & Giveaway!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

We actually got quite a bit done this weekend! Matt did a bunch of yard work (literally, four hours yesterday!) and I reorganized the kitchen and now have much more counter space!

The toaster oven (something we use quite frequently) used to be in the corner where the fruit is. It worked well there, except that we had no room to dry dishes, and no room to put ingredients when cooking on the stove! The fruit used to be to the left of the stove and that counter section was basically useless.

We moved the wine rack to our back table which left space for the toaster oven over here! Look at all that counter! Woo

Anyway, to celebrate my new job starting tomorrow, the amazing weather this weekend, and because it just sounds yummy, we’re having a feast tonight! It was inspired my Rachael Ray’s 30-minute Spanish Surf and Turf (we watched the episode Saturday morning).

Side note complaint: Rachael Ray’s 30-minute meals always seem like they would take me wayyyy longer than 30 minutes to make! I wish I could chop that fast, ugh.

Anyway, our feast includes:

  • Appetizer: Mushroom Gorgonzola Cups
  • Salad: Sweet Onion Salad with Orange Vinaigrette
  • Main Course: Grilled Chorizo and Grass-Fed Beef Burgers
  • Side: Shrimp & ‘Shroom Sherry
  • Dessert: I skimped on this but we have ice cream & cookies!

It’s only noon and I’m already craving this entire meal.

Let me leave you with my Opening Day photos. We had a great day, despite the loss. So much fun!

(Also, there’s a giveaway at the end of this post!)

We stopped at Kilroy’s before the game to have a beer or two. Normally, we stick to craft brews but gameday kind of requires Bud Light, especially in St. Louis.

It was basically a sea of red as we headed to the stadium. I love the atmosphere at a big game. Honestly, there’s not a whole lot that brings a city together like sports.

They had some pre-game activities, like the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales, player introductions, an appreciation of some great players (like Stan Musial, a baseball legend), and other fun things.

(Don’t worry, I’m still a Tigers fan at heart!)

If they get 800 votes for the winning flavor and 8,000 new facebook fans before the final basketball game tomorrow night, they’re giving all fans a coupon for $2.50 off two bags! Their chips aren’t expensive to begin with, so this is a great deal! Check it out!

Leave a comment telling me your top 5 flavors and I’ll choose a winner via random.org. The giveaway closes Wednesday at midnight! The winner will be announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Have a great Sunday!
