A salad spinner is one of those things that I’ve always wanted but for some reason, money that could have gone towards a salad spinner seemed to go towards the six kinds of cheese I walk out of the grocery store with on a regular basis
…you think I’m exaggerating.
Thanks to OXO and their Blogger Outreach Program, I am now the proud owner of a salad spinner. And the best part? I have one to give away to YOU!
So why use a salad spinner? Well, you have to wash your greens. I even wash the organic stuff that comes pre-washed. You especially need to wash greens you get from the farmer’s market, because sometimes they come straight from the dirt (this is a good thing!).
I washed my baby kale in the colander that comes with the salad spinner. After washing, I put it back into the salad spinner, then pump the handy button on top to spin the greens. The water flies off and into the bowl.
Handy features of this salad spinner include:
- non-slip bottom
- easy cleaning lid
- brakes!
- I hear you can use this for fruit too.
Ta-da! Dry greens!
The best part? You can store your greens right in this bowl, and it will help keep them fresh longer.
Now you want one, right? I know you do!
Leave a comment on this post telling me the kind of greens (or fruit?!) you’d spin in your new salad spinner!

Disclaimer: This giveaway features a salad spinner sent to me for free via the OXO Blogger Outreach Program. However, I wouldn’t feature the spinner or partner with OXO if I didn’t think they made fabulous products for novice and professional cooks alike. Enjoy!

For some reason that still baffles me, my husband decided last week that what he wanted to try was a green smoothie. Never, ever would I have picked this as something either one of us would eat. He used kale, spinach, broccoli, orange juice, honey, plain yogurt, and ice. We shared one and were stunned that we both liked it. So, I guess if I win I’ll be using it to spin green smoothie ingredients.

I would spin all of the lettuce in the wooooorld! Nah but for real, my mom buys ~artisan~ lettuce heads from Costco and stuff that I always cut and wash and stick in a Ziploc and this would be perfect for that!
