What’s this?! A post only three days past the last one?? It’s a blog miracle!
But seriously, I had some time tonight and wanted to just throw you some photos and a small update.
My mom has been in town since last Friday night which means since then, my life has been all wedding, all the time. Her visit was incredibly productive though and we’ve accomplished the following:
- Booked ceremony venue
- Booked reception venue
- Booked salon
- Booked florist
- Bought dress (!!)
This week I’m meeting with a photographer, invitation designer, and baker, and I have emails out to an officiant and transportation. My goal is to not have to think about the wedding whatsoever when we go to Colorado in two weeks!
We found these items to incorporate into the wedding. They might give you a feel for our “theme” – very rustic and earthy (people keep describing the wedding as “trigs and branches”). I’m in love with the old windows. They were only $15 each at a second hand shop in town!
Can’t show you the dress but suffice it to say, it’s very me. You’ll see it next April! Lots more to do but we have a very good start.
While my mom was here, we dined at Cleveland-Heath (twice, actually). This pork belly and watermelon appetizer was to die for – just a little bit spicy due to the pickled jalapenos on top.
My mom ordered the special on Saturday – sunfish over a tomato salad. I tweeted the picture via Instagram (@stacyELTblog) and subsequently got blamed for them running out of the special
I also went to Pint Size Bakery for the first time! I’ve been dying to go to this adorable little bakery, even more so after they served delicious desserts to Pigs and Pints.
We got a mint chocolate dream cookie for Matt…
A white chocolate pretzel krispie treat for moi…
And a breakfast cookie for my mom to eat before her flight this morning.
I love that krispie! All delicious and I can’t wait to go back.
Lastly, I received these bottles of tea in the mail last week and really wanted to blog about them. I’ve seen Sweet Leaf Tea on the grocery store shelves but honestly, I’ve never been a huge fan of bottled/canned tea so I’ve never purchased any.
I also don’t like sweet tea, so that doesn’t help with the search for a bottled tea. They sent us original organic sweet tea and organic raspberry iced tea.
As you can see, the bottle of sweet tea is gone because Matt got to it before I did
He said he really liked it! I tried the raspberry and thought it was OK. While I do enjoy the all natural ingredients, most of their teas have added sugar. However, I purchased the Lemon Lime Unsweetened Tea at the store and liked that one the best. It is a viable option for the next time I’m looking for bottled tea and I will buy that particular flavor in the future!
Anyway, I’m off for now. We have a wedding to attend this weekend, and next weekend is our Food Media Forum. Speaking of, tickets are ALMOST SOLD OUT so if you’re interested in going, NOW is the time to get tickets!
Have a great day!
Question: Have you ever had Sweet Leaf Tea? Is there a particular brand or flavor of bottled tea that you like?

If you’re going for a ‘rustic’ wedding–and it looks like you are–you should check out our pictures. We’ve got a ton of stuff left over that we’re trying to pass on to the next lucky betrothed. I’m pretty sure they’re on my Facebook page.
Oh wow, thanks Ryan! I’ll check it out now and contact you if we want anything.
The Mint Chocolate Dream Cookie looks to die for.
A wedding blog that fits in with what you’re describing is oncewed.com – I LOVE it! They have pictures of real weddings from where you can pull lots of ideas! Also I have a board on pinterest you might like – http://www.pinterest.com/nshelledy/wedding If only I were actually planning one, too! ha
congrats on accomplishing so much wedding stuff–such a fun time!
we live right by pint size bakery and have gotten breakfast foods but i need to go back for some of their desserts! yum!
Awwww, so happy to hear that wedding planning is in full swing for you! How exciting
And I can’t wait to see your dress; you are going to look so gorgeous!
That tea sounds delicious. I actually do like some bottled teas, but am not a fan of added sugar either. I’ll pick up the unsweetened if I can find it locally.
XOXO and have missed you (and your recipes!) lately. PS: I’m not following you on Instagram.
Pint Size Bakery is right around the corner from my house. It is delicious! We go alot of Saturday mornings. My 1 year old is a fan of their savory breakfast muffins (his favorite is blue cheese and mushroom, but their BLT is a close second). Next time try their homemade oatmeal cream pie. Yum!
