Yes, we were pounded with snow and ice here in St. Louis today. Sure, it’s been worse, but it’s never a bad thing to slow down and take a snow day in order to appreciate your life, work, and weekly schedule. I had grand plans for today (including citrus chili! I KNOW), but then I woke up with a fever and major body aches. Those grand plans got trampled with snow just like everything else in St. Louis and here I sit, under a warm blanket having not moved for a good three hours.
That’s OK though, because when you’re sick or snowed in, what better time to pick up a new book?
The first giveaway is for the I <3 Trader Joe’s Vegetarian Cookbook! Using food found at your local TJ’s, this cookbook gives a variety of vegetarian and easily vegan dishes that are not only easy but creative as well.

It’s so hard to choose because I love so many TJ products but one of my favorites is their soy chorizo.
I love their gingerbread men at Christmas time!
I love many TJ items, but there is always a few boxes of their indian food in my shopping cart! Especially the Palak Paneer.
I love TJ’s whole wheat pizza dough and PB filled pretzels!
I love their Tarte Alsace, similar to a thin crust pizza, with caramelized onions, ham, and gruyere cheese. Low carbs and great with a salad or alone. In the freezer section.

Hands-down the organic creamy unsalted peanut butter! Unfortunately, they don’t always have it in stock these days. The extra firm tofu and tempeh always make it into my basket, as well.
It’s so hard to choose! Not gonna lie though- I do love their cheeses!

I love TJs rice medley- in the frozen section. So great in a pinch and so healthy!

I have so many favorite TJ’s products, but if I had to pick one it would be their Thai vegetable potstickers. I love them with tamari and Chinese mustard.

Everything- I ONLY shop at TJ, as I love supporting stores with integrity. I am 100% plant based- guess I have to say I love the produce the most. Affordable, clean, organic produce is the shining star at TJ! Bags of organic avocados and bananas are twice a week purchases. I make my own almond milk- and it’s the most affordable place to buy my almonds! Can’t say enough. If it isn’t at TJ, I don’t buy it.
I love Trader Joes spicy lentil wrap. I also really love their chocolates, and they usually have a pretty good produce selection
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but their raw almond butter is amazing!
I love all things Trader Joe’s. I use their all natural conditioner to make fabric softener (it smells great) but I think my favorite is the pineapple salsa!

OMG, I love TJ’s Candy Cane Joe Joes! Years ago, they also had Ginger Joe Joes but were eventually discontinued. [sigh]

It is tough to find a better artisian bread rack than at Trader Joe’s, and I certainly have tried. As a previously avid bread maker, I have tried to replicate the wonderful smeel, mouth feel and chewey crust.
I am a certified BBQ Contest judge for both the Kansas City and St. Louis BBQ Societies. I have talked to numerous teams and none knew about the great product that only Trader Joe’s sells, a one pound pack of apple wood smoked but uncrued bacon ends for $2.99 a pound. You get wonderful flavor without the chemical mix found in most “cured” products. Wrap any very lean meat or fish in the bacon ends, and then smoke it. The Apple wood flavor really helps.
There is no doubt, of all the wonderful products at Trader Joe’s their breads are best.
I love, love, love Trader Joe’s Almond Butter & Flaxseed Spread!
